About John

Agricultural Advisor • SETU Lecturer

John has over 25 years of experience in agricultural research and development across five continents. Working as an independent agricultural advisor, he has been a consistent advocate and promoter of conservation agriculture adoption using regenerative practices throughout Europe and Africa, the primary focus of which is sustainable management of soil and water resources

Academic Research & SETU

He is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Land Sciences in the South East Technological University in Waterford on topics related to sustainable cropping and climate resilient agriculture systems, soil and water management, integrated pest and weed management, and developing agri-environmental policy.

Biological Agriculture & Farm Management

He is Programme Leader for the Masters Programme in Organic and Biological Agriculture and is the manager of Carriganore Farm on SETU’s West Campus.
