Co-Founder of ReFarm • Nature Restoration Advocate
Anke Heydenreich is co-founder of ReFarm, an initiative supporting farmers to restore biodiversity across Ireland. After more than 25 years in finance and inspired by leading a large-scale native tree planting project in Wicklow, she shifted her focus to advancing nature restoration through practical, farmer-led solutions.
In 2025, ReFarm partnered with 80 farms across 21 counties to deliver ponds, hedgerows and other nature-friendly actions. Her approach focuses on laying the foundations for a model designed to scale restoration efforts nationwide
Through her extensive background and collaborative work, Anke drives meaningful change by connecting investment with on-farm conservation, helping farmers create living, resilient infrastructure across the Irish landscape.
