About Clinton
Tillage Farmer • Soil Health Advocate
Clinton is an arable farmer in the south-east foothills of the Wicklow mountains. He is deeply focused on crop health through sap testing and tailoring nutrition accordingly, using both foliar and soil-applied nutrients. His work is combined with a huge focus on restoring soil health by minimizing soil disturbance through the reduction and, where possible, the exclusion of tillage, chemical fertilisers, and pesticides.
Soil Cover & Continuous Growth
The aim on his farm is to always have soil cover by having either a cash crop or a diverse cover crop growing at all times, keeping living roots in the ground year-round. Clinton maintains a strong diversity in his rotation of winter and spring crops to support the underground ecosystem.
Crop Nutrition & Livestock Integration
He successfully integrates livestock into his arable system through close collaboration with local livestock farmers. This sustainable management includes swapping straw for dung and arranging bed-and-breakfast systems for the grazing of his cover crops.
Regenerative Arable Systems & Collaboration
Through his work, Clinton brings a strong voice to conversations around progressive tillage farming, demonstrating how combining technical plant nutrition with livestock partnerships can regenerate soils and reduce reliance on chemical inputs.
