About Tommy

Arable Farmer • Regenerative Agriculture Advocate

Tommy is an arable farmer from East Meath who runs a family enterprise with his father, Frank. For the past decade or more they have been on a journey of transition into regenerative agriculture, starting with no-till crop establishment and the introduction of cover crops and more diverse rotations.

Crop Health & Inputs Reduction

They eliminated insecticides and over time fungicides too, having significantly reduced the use of synthetic fertiliser. Instead, the focus is on crop health through balancing soil nutrients, use of organics and foliar applications of micro & macro nutrients or biostimulants.

Soil Capital & System Resilience

Tommy’s goal is a profitable low-input system resilient to global shocks and extremes of weather, built on improving soil health or “soil capital”.
