About Kim

Mixed Livestock Farmer • Conservationist • FFN Ambassador

Kim farms in Calverstown, Co. Kildare, where he and his wife Mireille manage a 230-acre mixed livestock farm that has been in their care for decades. Together they run a herd of 60 Aubrac cows and followers, a flock of around 80 sheep, and seasonal pigs.

Habitat Diversity & Low-Input Management

They maintain a rich mosaic of habitats including wetlands, woodlands, ponds, grasslands, and traditional farm buildings. Kim believes strongly in working with the land’s natural capacity, operating under the philosophy of “farming for nature, not against it.” The farm is managed entirely without artificial fertilizers or pesticides, utilizing a light-touch approach that allows birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife to flourish.

Stewardship & National Recognition

Their long-standing commitment to biodiversity has earned them several national farming and conservation awards. Thoughtful, observant, and deeply connected to the land, Kim actively advocates for careful stewardship and the preservation of Ireland’s rural landscapes.

As a Farming for Nature Ambassador, Kim champions the philosophy of working alongside nature’s capacity, proving that diverse livestock enterprises can thrive while actively restoring and protecting complex ecosystems.
